  18.                     He took his coding pad in hand;
  19.                          Long time the Echo-plex he sought.
  20.                     When his HOST-to-IMP began to limp
  21.                          he stood a while in thought,

  23.                     And while he stood, in uffish thought,
  24.                          The ARPANET, with IMPish bent,
  25.                     Sent packets through conditioned lines,
  26.                          And checked them as they went,
